The Institute for Biomedical Technology, Experimental Molecular Imaging is offering aPhD position (m/f/d) medicine, biotechnology, BME, biology, biomedical engineering or related fieldThe Research Training Group (RTG 2375) Tumor-Targeted Drug Delivery funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and hosted by RWTH Aachen University in collaboration with the DWI – Leibniz Institute for Interactive Materials, the Fraunhofer IME, and 5 leading laboratories in the USA invites applications for one doctoral position .

Activities and responsibilities

We offer a stimulating environment to pursue research projects focused on the development of drug delivery systems and efficient tumor-targeted treatments as well as a structured interdisciplinary education. The expertise of the participating researchers covers clinical medicine, tumor biology and chemical engineering. The proposed projects are at the interfaces of the three research fields. Qualification profile

  • Masters degree preferably in the field of natural science, biomedical engineering, medicine or related field
  • excellent skills in English speaking and writing
  • academic grades in the top 10% of candidates are favorable


The position is to be filled as soon as possible and limited (related to the scientific projects) to 3 years. This is a part-time position (65% of the standard weekly hours for full-time employees). The salary  corresponds to level EG 13 TV-L.
The successful candidate has the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree.
