Position Summary

The Director/ Sr. Director Marketing- aHUS will be responsible for the overall leadership of the local marketing team and development of key strategies and tactics to achieve local business objectives. In partnership with Sales, Medical, Regulatory Affairs, and other cross-functional partners, the Director/ Sr. Director Marketing- aHUS will develop plans and utilize appropriate tools and tactics to execute on disease education, diagnostic initiatives and brand initiatives to improve demand generation and appropriate utilization of Soliris. The incumbent will also drive engagement with key stakeholders including KOLs, patient groups, and other external stakeholders.
Principal Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead implementation of country strategic and tactical marketing plans
  • In close collaboration with Medical Affairs, develop and design all medical educational programs and develop and manage local KOLs
  • Maintain global consistency with local adaptability in marketing efforts
  • Focus on diagnostics– coordinate closely w/ sales team on diagnostic initiatives to ID patients
  • Lead definition of customer segments using data, transforming analytics into customer insights
  • Partner with sales teams to drive innovative programming that leads to business results
  • Identify physician target groups and define segmentation in alignment with global/regional strategies
  • Communicate local market insight on opportunities and challenges back to the Global TA
  • Hire, lead, and develop a high-performing team of marketing professionals, where appropriate

  • Experience with leading-functional teams Highly customer focused: from large accounts to physicians, patients, and payors
  • Expert knowledge of local political environment and access issue
  • 10-12 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical environment and thereof 6 years within the marketing department
  • Prior sales or sales management experience preferred
  • Strong scientific orientation and background
  • Launch experience and rare disease experience preferred
  • Desired experience in hematology and/or nephrology
  • Fluent in local language and English, both written and spoken
  • Highly learning agile

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or business field. Advanced degree (MS, PhD, or MBA) preferred.
