The Institute for Vascular Signalling, Vascular Research Centre, at the Medical Faculty of the Goethe University invites applications for a
PhD student
to study the regulation of microRNAs via the TGFb signaling pathway
We are seeking exceptional and highly motivated candidates in the field of vascular biology and signal transduction particularly focusing on the regulation of microRNA expression and their role in signal transduction, monocyte homoeostasis and vascular repair. The successful candidate will have an MSc in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or an equivalent in Pharmacy or Medicine.
The Institute for Vascular Signalling is made up of interdisciplinary groups of scientists focusing on vascular signaling and repair. It is equipped with modern facilities and offers the opportunity to work with leading scientists in an international and team-orientated environment. While knowledge of the German language is not mandatory, excellent written and spoken English skills are required.
The position is initially available for one year; prolongation for a further 2 years is possible and is dependent on merit.
The regulations of the German fixed-term contract act for sciences are relevant for the expiration of the contracts. The classifications are determined by the TV-G-U.
