Global Medical Affairs Physician (MD) / Scientist Anti-Infectives (m/f)


  • Provide input into the strategic Global Medical Affairs (MA) plans for a novel antibacterial product for use in the intensive care unit
  • Provide medical expertise and insight to key internal stakeholders
  • Represent Bayer's viewpoint to key opinion leaders, scientific advisors, health authorities, and to other external stakeholders
  • Help to coordinate the design, and manage the conduct, analysis, reporting and publication of MA studies in conjunction with medical directors/country medical affairs colleagues
  • Plan and execute scientific/medical communications, including publications at congresses and in journals
  • Give Medical Affairs input/advice to product development activities, in-licensing activities, regulatory communications, and labeling and pharmacovigilance documents
  • Provide medical review of medical/scientific and promotional materials
  • Provide Medical Affairs support to workshops, advisory boards, satellite symposia, and stand-alone scientific events


  • Medical doctor qualification strongly preferred with critical care medicine experience; alternatively life science higher degree (eg PhD) with extensive critical care experience
  • Long-term work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, thereof several years in medical affairs
  • Preferably, disease and therapeutic area knowledge in pneumology or infectious diseases; additional experience in intensive/critical care would be advantageous
  • Able to interpret scientific and clinical trial data and present that information in different formats for appropriate audiences
  • Good understanding of the drug development process over different stages
  • Understanding of global regulations and guidelines
  • Ability to work across boundaries and building effective working relationships between functions
  • A strong global mindset and intercultural communication skills
  • Fluency in English, both orally and in writing
