Research Associate (m/f)  (38E/2016)

The position will be available from 1 September 2016. The employment contract is limited to 3,5 years. The regular working time will be 39 hours per week. The salary is based on the collective agreement TVöD-Bund. The place of work is Dresden-Rossendorf.

  • excellent university degree (Diploma or Master) in the field of process engineering, energy and environmental technology or business engineering (specialization in process engineering)
  • in-depth knowledge in the areas of process and systems engineering, power engineering (focus on renewable energy) and energy economics
  • experiences in the implementation of system analysis (LCA/ LCC) for material, energy and economic evaluation of processes and production facilities of the process industry
  • interdisciplinary thinking, independent scientific work and active communication with scientific partners
  • experiences in using LCA/LCC software (e.g. openLCA, Umberto) are advantageous
  • conducting analyses on system and process level for material, energy and economic balance study of energy-intensive production processes in the process industry as well as of material cycles using LCA/LCC software tools
  • process evaluation taking into account future changes to time-varying energy deployments (e.g. from renewable energy sources) on the basis of available studies and forecasts, as well as own research
  • identification of measures for process adaptation with reference to energy-intensive sample processes
