Engineer as Packaging and Device Expert - Biologics Technical Development and Manufacturing unit (m/f)

Packaging and Device Expert (m/f) Packaging & Device Commercialization BDTM, Sandoz GmbH, Schaftenau

Area of Responsibility

  • Responsible for a successful transfer of packaging and device processes from commercial product to different commercial manufacturing sites (internal and external)
  • Lead commercial packaging & device process transfers and/or launch to different manufacturing sites within the Biologics Technical Development and Manufacturing network (BDTM, internal and external)
  • Subject matter expert for all device & secondary packaging related topics for all commercial products and launch products
  • Support submission documents for secondary packaging material & device assembly processes related to the process transfer/launch
  • Qualification of global packaging solutions in line with the current valid requirements (e.g. Development of test protocols and reports, execute IQ, OQ, and PQ etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with international regulations (GMP, SHE, pharmacopoeias, authorities, requirements) and adherence to relevant Novartis Quality Modules, Procedures, Guidelines


  • Education: Bachelor degree or higher in Engineering, preferably in Packaging, Materials Science, or a related field
  • Languages: English (fluent) / German (fluent) / additional other language preferred
  • Experience: Relevant practical experience of at 5 years in secondary and packaging operations and packaging development with combination products (21 CFR part 210/211, 21 CFR part 4 and ISO 13485 knowledge)
  • Personal skills: Team player with outstanding project management and communication and project management skills
