5 Research Fellows for CoSiMa research group

The Dresden Center for Computational Materials Science offers within the ESF Young Researchers Group CoSiMa – Computer Simulations for Materials Design the positions of 
 
5 research fellows
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)
 
The positions start, given the final approval of the project, on September 1, 2015 and are limited until August 31, 2018 (time limitation governed by WissZeitVG/TzBfG). The positions will give an excellent chance for further academic qualification (e.g. Ph.D. or habilitation thesis). The Dresden Center for Computational Materials Science aims at fostering and clustering the activities related to materials simulations in the Dresden region. The main goal of the new interdisciplinary research group CoSiMa is to develop and apply simulation approaches for new materials relevant for various fields of science and technology.

For an optimal scientific training, the members of the group will be provided state-of-the-art research methodologies and equipment for materials modeling and simulation and will be trained in inter- and crossdisciplinary work via lectures and seminars in various fields related to the scientific scope of the research group. In addition, a broad variety of soft skills will be imparted to the group via a qualification concept providing them e.g. with presentation and rhetorical skills and training in critically discussing and challenging scientific results.
Requirements: excellent university degree in Science or Engineering, optionally an excellent Ph.D. degree in Science or Engineering, the latest scientific degree has been achieved after February 26, 2011; ability to work in a team and to perform interdisciplinary research and cooperation with academic and industrial partners; excellent communication skills in English. We target at top-notch dedicated and proactive young scientists who plan to make their mark in science.
