Cost analyst for academic programs (m/f)
 
  • 2-year fixed-term contract, 40 hours/week

Mission
Reporting to the Director of Administration, the successful candidate will determine and analyse the cost of academic programs – direct costs, indirect costs, fixed costs, variable costs, etc. The incumbent will establish cost accounting policies and procedures, and ensure that all costs are timely and accurately captured for required analysis and internal / external reporting. He/she will provide the management with cost analysis and estimates to enable informed decision-making.
 
Activities
  • Ensure collection, transformation, validation and modeling of data for presentation and decision-making purposes.
  • Prepare estimates of new or proposed academic programs in collaboration with the deans, heads of faculty administration and course directors.
  • Prepare and emit statistical reports for the comparison of costs and determination of profitability
 
Profile
  • University degree in finance, economics, statistics or equivalent
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Advanced knowledge of cost accounting methods
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Solid presentation skills
  • A high degree of computer literacy
  • Knowledge of statistical software (SPSS, R, SAS, etc.) and relational databases (SQL) is a plus
  • Fluency in English and French required, German is an asset.
  • Intellectual curiosity, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Distinctive communications skills and ability to communicate analytical and technical content in an easy to understand way
