“Paths to ecologically friendly, safe and competitive energy systems – Technical feasibility and societal impacts”
to complete a dissertation in
Power Engineering
on
Holistic Evaluation of Energy-Storage-Systems as Success Factor in Future Energy Options
under the lead supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Antonio Hurtado
 
The Research Training Group is a fully interdisciplinary project with students from engineering and social sciences and is co-financed by the Boysen Foundation and Technische Universität Dresden. Students applying for membership must give proof that they are ready to incorporate a strong interdisciplinary approach in their research and to cooperate closely with doctoral students from other disciplines. Applicants must have a better than average university degree in the field of their research, fulfill the requirements of the respective regulations for dissertations in the faculty in which they seek their doctoral degree, and show a strong motivation for interdisciplinary research and teamwork.
Doctoral students admitted to the Research Training Group will initially receive a scholarship for one year with the possibility for an extension for another two years, starting at the earliest possible date in 2015. The scholarship is a tax-exempted income. Each of the doctoral students involved will have at least one advisor from engineering and one from social sciences. The program includes regular seminars on research-related topics and on soft skills as well as participation in workshops and conferences.
Applications must include a letter of motivation, a CV and copies of previous university degrees. Admittance will be decided by the Board of the Boysen- TU Dresden-Graduiertenkolleg.
