PhD Student (m/f)

The position will be available from 1 September 2016, with a salary corresponding to 50 % of full-time scientist position. The employment contract is limited to three years. The salary is based on the collective agreement TVöD-Bund. The place of work is Dresden-Rossendorf.

  • Master/Diploma in Nuclear Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with very good marks
  • very good knowledge in the field of reactor physics and nuclear engineering
  • ability and interest to theoretically oriented work
  • very good teamwork skills with ability to work in a strong international and interdisciplinary research team
  • proficiency in spoken and written English
  • coupling of the reactor dynamics code DYN3D and the thermal hydraulic system code ATHLET for fast reactor applications
  • development of input models of the latest sodium fast reactor concepts
  • conduction of accident analysis calculations using the coupled code
