Five Junior Research Group Leader Positions

The Leibniz Research Cluster (LRC) Bio/Synthetic multifunctional microproduction
units – Novel ways in bioactive compound development

is a joint research programme of five Leibniz Institutes and combines life sciences and engineering to develop novel processes for the cell free production of natural products. The LRC is funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research in the framework of the initiative “Biotechnology 2020+”.

The following five Leibniz Institutes initiated the LRC:
• Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology – Hans Knöll Institute, Jena (HKI)
• Leibniz Institute for Plant Biochemistry, Halle (IPB)
• Leibniz Institute for Polymer Research, Dresden (IPF)
• Leibniz Institute for New Materials, Saarbrücken (INM)
• Leibniz Institute for Analytical Sciences, Dortmund (ISAS)

The LRC will be composed of five independent Junior Research Groups which closely collaborate and which are supported by an extensive interdisciplinary qualification programme. The aim of the LRC is to give new momentum to the often limited production of biomolecules by making use of innovative biological and technological systems.

The LRC offers:
• One Junior Research Group at each institute, with excellent facilities and funding for personnel, equipment and consumables
• A responsible function in the establishment of a new research infrastructure
• A highly interdisciplinary working environment at the interface of engineering and life sciences
