A Switzerland-based, globally active science communication agency, SAN supports leading pharmaceutical companies with various types of medical education solutions. To reinforce our science team, we are looking for a:
Medical Director Science Services
Your responsibilities:
Continuously advance and leverage the medical knowledge of SAN Science to support the creation and implementation of a broad range of high-level, state-of-the-art medical education programmes.
  • Act as focal point of company expertise in science and in Therapeutic Area (TA) expertise
  • Develop company's scientific knowledge and maximize knowledge retention through appropriate processes and tools
  • Shape product strategy in content terms
  • Drive product / service innovation in close cooperation with Department Heads
  • Ensure adequate conceptual and content quality of scientific deliverables, consistent with objectives and communication strategies
  • Act as a medical resource for the company working cross-functionally and with external vendors
  • Represent SAN towards clients, other decision-makers and providers in terms of quality of scientific content deliverables
  • Lead pitches for medical education programmes
Your qualifications:
  • MD or PhD, preferably with experience in oncology and haematology
  • Min. 5 years work experience in the pharma industry and/or medical education agency / enterprise serving the pharmaceutical industry
  • Min. 3 years of relevant work experience as Medical Advisor or in Scientific Communications
  • Leadership personality (overseeing, guiding and directing Science staff and providing leadership, coaching, mentoring and feedback)
  • Experience with brand strategies and product life-cycle management
  • Experience in development of medical education concepts and in working closely with KOLs and authors
  • Experience in preparing abstracts, posters, slides, manuscripts and in developing content for scientific and educational programmes
  • Familiarity with the pharma codex (US, Swiss) and CME compliance, familiarity with compliance processes in the pharma industry
  • Experience in working in an international environment and with an international clientele
You love to communicate science, have a high learning agility, are able to think outside the box and strive to success in a small internationally oriented team. In addition, you have a high level of client orientation, good social skills and are a goal oriented person with an entrepreneurial thinking. If you are prepared to travel and work on approx. 10 weekends per year, then we should meet.
