The Center for NanoScience (CeNS) offers doctoral positions in Nanoscience for outstanding graduate students, starting between May and October 2016. Successful candidates will work in the stimulating interdisciplinary environment of CeNS. The PhD students will be supervised by principal investigators of CeNS and will be affiliated with the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (LMU), the Technische Universität München (TUM) or the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry.

CeNS offers outstanding graduate students from all around the world doctoral positions in the area of nanobioscience. Regular lectures and seminars as well as summer workshops and winter schools provide the students with an effective introduction to the interdisciplinary field of nanobiosciences. Students have the opportunity to participate in international conferences and in exchange programs with other nanoscience centers. The lectures, workshops and seminars of CeNS are held in English.

Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent in either the field of physics, chemistry or life sciences
- prepare for a Master's degree in one of the above named fields to be completed no later than two months before the start of the project OR hold a master's degree or equivalent
- for postdoc positions: hold or prepare for a PhD or Dr. rer. nat. in a related subject
- excellent grades
- a very good command of the English language
- strong scientific motivation
- interest in interdisciplinary research
