PhD Student (m/f)

The position will be available from 01.01.2015. The employment contract is limited to three years. The regular weekly working time will be 19,5 hours per week. The salary is based on the collective agreement TVöD-Bund. The place of work is Dresden-Rossendorf.

  • Diploma or Master's degree or equivalent in chemistry or physics
  • experience in optics especially with respect to microscopy
  • experience in working in radiologically controlled areas, and working with actinides and/or other radionuclides
  • experience in applied spectroscopy

Within this project the successful candidate (m/f) will develop a microcopic setup to expand the TRLFS technique by a spatial resolution component (TRLFM). The device is supposed to be capable to characterize the speciation of trivalent lanthanides and actinides, as well as U(VI), on a scale of several to several ten µm in complex mixtures, such as natural minerals.
