Research Fellow for monitoring project of highly radioactive waste

At TU Dresden, Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Institute of Power Engineering the AREVA Endowed Chair of Imaging Techniques in Energy and Process Engineering offers a position as
 
Research Fellow
(Subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

The position will start on 01.08.2016 and is limited until 31.01.2019. The period of employment is governed by § 2 Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position offers the chance to obtain further academic qualification (e.g. PhD).
Tasks: Within the frame of a collaborative project dealing with the long-term monitoring of highly radioactive waste, measurement techniques and procedures for state-monitoring are to be developed. Therefore extensive Monte-Carlo simulations shall be made to assess these methods on the basis of expected gamma, neutron and myon radiation fields.
Requirements: university degree in physics, energy engineering or related; ability for team work and good English capabilities. Fundamental knowledge in radiation transport simulation with Monte-Carlo methods is of advantage.
