This is an exciting opportunity for a distinctive R & D scientist to join a world leading organisation. Our client’s analytic instruments are developed and produced in a vibrant multi-national team for Life Science and Inorganic Mass Spectrometry applications. These innovative high-end measuring and analysis instruments are used worldwide in research and science.
Key responsibilities
• Development of high-performance mass spectrometric instrumentation and related technologies in a highly motivated multi-national multi-disciplinary team in Bremen, Germany
• Participation in product development teams and project planning
• Participation in design and test of new instruments.
• Ion optical simulations
• Guidance of mechanical and electrical engineers by developing design specifications
• Practical and theoretical characterization of newly developed instrumentation.  
• Development of test procedures and documentation to enable a smooth and timely transfer of developed components into manufacturing
• Knowledge transfer to manufacturing and product support/service on newly developed instrumentation 
Your background
• University degree in physics, engineering, chemistry or related science, or equivalent education and work experience
• Several years of proven experience in development of complex instrumentation for mass spectrometry
• Programming skills in a major programming language or scripting language
• Strong desire to push the limits of science and technology
• Fluent in English, willing to learn German
• Good communication skills
• Hands-on experience with hybrid Mass Spectrometers is desirable
