In the research group of Jun.-Prof. Dr. Christoph Reinhardt at the Center for Thrombosis and Hemostasis (CTH), University Medical Center Mainz, a Dr. med. vet. position within the DFG project “Microbiota-induced adaption of intestinal morphology” is available. The research work is focused on host-microbiota interactions and innate immune pathways. It is based on experimentation with germ-free mice to study the role of the commensal microbiota in the regulation of intestinal renewal and adaption of gut morphology. The position is initially funded for 21 months and should start from March 15th. We invite applications of highly motivated candidates that have completed their degree as a veterinary with a focus on gut microbiota, Gastroenterology, Nutrition Science, or Vascular Biology.
