2 PhD positions (TV-L 13, 65%) are available for a period of three years, starting earliest possible. These will be part of the newly established Collaborative Research Center (SFB1340 Matrix-in-Vision) on "In vivo Visualization of Extracellular Matrix Pathology", a collaborative venture of the Berlin university hospital (Charité), Berlin universities (Technical University, Humboldt University and Free University), and research institutions (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt Berlin, Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung Berlin, Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces).

We are looking for highly motivated, inquisitive, enthusiastic, and result-driven PhD candidates with a good academic record and preferably some research experience. Candidates should ideally hold a Master’s degree in Veterinary medicine or Biology (which are relevant for the small animal handling and the application of preclinical MRI imaging and MR elastography). As our project includes studies on small animal disease models, we would greatly appreciate candidates with basic surgical skills. We offer collaborative supervision from basic scientists and clinical experts, embedded in one of the most dense and innovative academic regions in Europe, including the top-rated teaching hospital Charité with Europe's largest radiological department.
